How did you make it happen Eli?
In 2017, I started to study Pedagogy of National and Foreign Languages at UTPL (Private Technical University of Loja). But honestly, I was bored studying so many books and still, I saw no progress. So I decided to quit.
In 2019, I had the opportunity to work at an international event, and despite fear this time I decided to JUST DO IT. In fact, the first day I went home crying, I didn’t understand a lot of accents, and I was feeling frustrated. So I started by creating my own method to start telling stories in English!
Since then, I have unlocked my English fluency, and I have made many friends in the United States, South Korea, France, Germany, Ukraine, and many other countries. Now I LOVE meeting different people, places, meals, and cultures (whispers: *there’s always room for an ADVENTURE*.)
I am so proud to have decided to hush my fears and let my light shine. The same year, I had the opportunity to live with my best friend from the United States, Shauna, and it took my English to a whole new level.
I love teaching and have an obsessive obsession with making things simple, and that’s why I decided to create Sheli Academy. A special place for those brave women who want to fulfill their dreams.
In 2020, I earned my three TESOL certifications to teach English Internationally at the Florida TESOL Institute. I learned many techniques validated by Oxford and since then I have helped more than a hundred people around the world to speak English with confidence (some of them also teach English now).
